David joined LSP as an analyst in 2021. He is part of LSP’s investment team focused on private companies and his main tasks include deal flow screening and scientific due diligence. Prior to joining LSP, David performed his doctoral research in biochemistry & biotechnology at KU Leuven (Belgium). Motivated to contribute to the understanding of neurodegenerative disease etiology, he developed yeast cell models for the study of pathological proteins associated with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. During his PhD, David obtained an initial experience in venture capital financing by working at V-Bio Ventures (Ghent, Belgium). Moreover, through internships at Bayer CropScience (Ghent, Belgium) and MedImmune (Cambridge, UK), he also gained exposure to areas such as intellectual property and market access strategy. Over the years, David co-authored several scientific publications, including in Nature Biotechnology, and has participated in scientific outreach initiatives. In addition to his PhD, David earned a master’s in bioscience enterprise (University of Cambridge) and a master’s in molecular & cellular biology (KU Leuven). Having lived in Belgium, Denmark, and the UK, David is currently residing in Brussels together with his girlfriend.
