Merijn Klaassen RC CAIA FRM joined LSP in early 2008 as Chief Financial Officer and became Partner of the firm in 2017. Within LSP he is responsible for all financial and administrative affairs connected with the investments and divestments of the portfolio companies as well as all fund-related matters. He has extensive experience in deal structuring and modelling of financing alternatives. Prior to joining LSP, Merijn was Finance Manager at Amgen, a leading human therapeutics company in the biotechnology industry, where he was responsible for the financial management of the international supply chain operations. Prior to that, Merijn worked for Philips Electronics in various senior finance roles, amongst others supporting the sale of the Philips Semiconductors (now NXP) to a consortium of private equity companies.

 

Merijn brings a deep understanding of finance in its full breadth, ranging from accounting to mergers & acquisitions. He has a strong academic background, holding a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Tilburg and Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Management Science from Twente University. In addition he is a chartered controller (RC) in the Netherlands and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation, the leading professional qualification in the alternative investment industry. Furthermore, he also is a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. Merijn lives in Hertogenbosch with his wife and three children.
